Chen Yuhang, Deputy Secretary of the Huizhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Huizhou, recently visited the Daya Bay Economic and Technological Development Zone to inspect the planning and construction of transport infrastructure connecting Huizhou with neighboring Shenzhen, as well as the city’s broader efforts to integrate into the Shenzhen metropolitan area and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent speeches and directives concerning Guangdong Province, seize the major opportunities presented by the development of the Shenzhen metropolitan area, and prioritize efforts to eliminate “dead-end roads” along the Huizhou-Shenzhen border. He also called for improving the regional road network, accelerating infrastructure connectivity, and taking more proactive steps to advance Huizhou’s integration into the Shenzhen metropolitan area and the Greater Bay Area.
The Linhui Road, located in the western part of Daya Bay, connects to Shenzhen’s Pingshan District and serves as a key north-south arterial for outbound traffic in the region. Arriving at the construction site, Chen Yuhang heard briefings on the project’s planning and progress. He urged the local authorities and relevant departments to stay focused on the set targets and timelines, strictly enforce quality and safety standards, and accelerate the construction schedule to bring the road into service as soon as possible. He also stressed the importance of high-standard planning and high-quality construction, calling for coordinated efforts to enhance the road’s landscaping. The goal, he said, is to achieve smooth and convenient traffic flow, elevate the city’s overall quality, and improve the well-being of local residents.
Chen Yuhang then visited the Linhai (Coastal) section of the coastal tourist highway adjacent to Shenzhen, where he inspected the site selection and route alignment, and received detailed briefings on the project’s planning, design, and construction progress. He stressed the need to maintain a goal- and problem-oriented approach, strengthen inter-departmental coordination and synergy, benchmark against best practices in planning and design, advance the project in a scientific and efficient manner, and address construction bottlenecks and obstacles in a timely manner. He also called for leveraging the coastal resource advantages, integrating project development with ecological conservation and cultural-tourism synergy, and carefully building a high-quality coastal tourist corridor that will support the high-quality development of the marine economy.
Chen Yuhang also visited Huizhou DBG Technology Co., Ltd., where he toured the production workshops and product showrooms and held in-depth discussions with the company’s management to gain a detailed understanding of its operations, R&D efforts, and market expansion. He encouraged the company to stay confident in its growth prospects, continue to increase investment in R&D, step up efforts to tackle key technological challenges, and steadily enhance its core product competitiveness. He also urged the company to proactively seize the opportunities presented by the Greater Bay Area’s development, accelerate its capital injection and production expansion, and strive to become stronger, better, and bigger.
