On the morning of June 26, the launch ceremony for the Huizhou Shenzhen-adjacent Intelligent Manufacturing Park was held in Xinxu Town, Huiyang District. Chen Yuhang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Duan Zhihui, Vice Mayor, and Wu Jianming, President of Wanyang Group Co., Ltd., attended the event.

In recent years, Huizhou has launched the planning and development of the 100-square-kilometre Shenzhen-Huizhou collaborative development zone, of which the Shenzhen-adjacent Intelligent Manufacturing Park is a key component. Situated at the geographic centre of the Shenzhen-Dongguan-Huizhou triangle and bordering Longgang District of Shenzhen and Qingxi Town of Dongguan, the park covers a planned area of 26.55 square kilometers. It will focus on two major directions – artificial intelligence and green and low-carbon development – and will be developed into two industrial clusters in the north and south, creating an industrial ecosystem that complements and coordinates with Shenzhen and Dongguan along the value chain. The park also serves as a key strategic platform for the full implementation of the Shenzhen Metropolitan Area Development Plan. At the ceremony, a number of enterprises signed occupancy agreements, and construction officially began on the Wanyang Science and Technology City, with a total investment of 24 billion yuan.

In his speech, Duan Zhihui said that the Huizhou Shenzhen-adjacent Intelligent Manufacturing Park, as a strategic platform for integrated development with Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area, will further unleash the strong momentum of regional coordinated development and contribute to the building of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Metropolitan Area. He hopes that the park will stay committed to the goal of joint development and shared benefits, strengthen its industries, enhance its ecosystem, and accelerate its transformation into a benchmark platform for high-quality development, thus setting a model for innovation, industrial vitality, and shared prosperity.

Officials from relevant departments of Shenzhen and Dongguan, as well as representatives from some enterprises and financial institutions participated in the event as well.
