On the afternoon of June 16, an investment cooperation framework agreement was signed between the People’s Government of Huidong County, Fast Ship Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Qiyao Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd., signaling the official establishment of the Fast Small-Waterplane-Area High-Speed Trimaran Production Project in Huizhou. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Chen Yuhang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Huizhou, and attended by Zhang Dong, Chairman of Fast Ship Technology Development Co., Ltd., and Yu Hongri, Chairman of Guangdong Qiyao Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd.
Per the terms of the cooperation agreement, Fast Ship Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Qiyao Aerospace Technology Co., Ltd. are set to build a production and manufacturing base for small-waterplane-area high-speed trimarans in the Bijia Area of Renping Peninsula, Huidong County. With a total planned investment of about RMB 7.5 billion, the project will be carried out in multiple phases and will primarily produce trimarans in the 31.76-meter to 101-meter class.
Fast Ship Technology Development Co., Ltd. is a high-tech firm focused on the R&D and commercialization of small-waterplane-area trimarans. Its products are distinguished by superior performance in stability, speed, and beyond. The project’s settlement in Huizhou is very much a case of mutual choice and shared vision between the public and private sectors. Huizhou’s coastal location within the Greater Bay Area offers unbeatable geographic advantages, backed by a strong port industry ecosystem and well-established manufacturing supply chains. These assets are perfectly in sync with the needs of the Fast trimaran project, making for a natural and complementary partnership.
The project marks an important step in Huizhou’s efforts to capitalize on the Guangdong provincial pilot zone initiative for marine economy reform and innovation, while driving the upgrading of its port-side manufacturing industries. Once operational, it is expected to foster the growth of a high-end manufacturing cluster on the Renping Peninsula, delivering a powerful new engine for the high-quality economic development of Huidong and the broader Huizhou region.
