The reporter recently learned from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce that from January to April this year Huizhou achieved a total retail sales of 50.948 billion yuan of social consumer goods, an increase of 7.9% year-on-year. The growth rate ranked the third in the province and the first in the Pearl River Delta.
Household appliances consumption has risen sharply by 13.3%
"From January to April this year, statistics show that household and home appliance consumption has increased by 13.3%, becoming a bright spot in the consumer market." The relevant staff of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce said the first half of the year was slack season of traditional home appliances, and the city's commercial departments took a series of consumer-promoting measures, together with profit-making activities run by companies like Gome, Suning, and Wanshi City to make home appliance consumption lead the market.
"From January to April this year, sales and profits of GangHui Shopping Center achieved a double-digit growth, maintaining a double-digit growth for the past 11 consecutive years." Different from the sudden rise of furniture and home appliances consumption, in January-April this year, Huizhou's automobile consumption was slightly flat, down 4.8% year-on-year. At the same time, however, new energy vehicles and high-quality domestic brand cars are still popular among consumers under the initiative of auto manufacturers.
