In recent years Huizhou has attached greater importance to manufacturing, and a mixture of efforts were made to promote the high-end development of foods, shoes, daily cosmetics and other consumer goods, resulting in the significant increase of local reputable brands.

According to the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, in the first half of 2023, Huizhou's consumer goods industry has achieved a total output value of about 150 billion yuan, with the number of enterprises above designated scale reaching 2,300.

At its exhibition booth of Huizhou trade fair of famous, high-quality and new made-in-Huizhou products, Mr. Gao Yunchuan from Jin Jia Zhuang (Huizhou) Healthy Foods Co., Ltd was introducing their products to customers, “These organic oatmeal energy bars have been used in Beijing Winter Olympics and Hangzhou Asian Games. It is a product exclusively developed for athletes to quickly replenish energy, and the feeling of satiety is very strong, and the product is welcomed by everyone”.

The trade fair was divided into two exhibition areas, namely special Huizhou foods and Huizhou modern and fashionable products, with the product mix covering agricultural and sideline products, food and beverages, prepared vegetable products, wine and refined tea, textile, clothing and home textile, shoes, hats and bags, daily necessities, and trendy crafts among others.

In the first half of 2023, Huizhou's consumer goods industry had achieved a total output value of about 150 billion yuan, with the number of enterprises above designated scale reaching 2,300, and some of these famous local brands included Jin Jia Zhuang, Master Guo, CHEERS, OIWAS, PANG, OPAL, and VIRTUE. In addition, Huizhou is home to a great many local characteristic products, such as CHEERS sofa, women’s shoes from Huidong, rice from Longmen and camellia oil from Baitang.

The trade fair serves as a valuable platform for exhibitors and professional buyers to communicate fully, strengthen publicity and promotion of Huizhou’s branded products, and promote the precise convergence of production and marketing.

In addition, the trade fair provides a great opportunity for local residents to learn more about these famous local brands, enhance the brand awareness, and enables made-in-Huizhou products to be integrated in the domestic and international double-circulation development pattern, and further develop the domestic market.

In an effort to promote the high-quality development of consumer goods industry, Huizhou has taken many active measures to facilitate the clustering of resource elements onto key enterprises, key industries and key products and enhance the industrial development level. Chain-owner enterprises are encouraged to increase their investment on R&D and set up industrial chain innovation consortiums. Greater efforts will be made to help enterprises expand both domestic and international markets, and digital technologies will be applied to help enterprises improve their product quality, build their brands, explore cross-border e-commerce and other new business mode and increase the sales of pre-cooked foods, beverage, Lingnan special foods, fast-frozen foods and other key products.
